This is a list of some of my favorite websites.  This list includes fellow artists, talented relatives, a bit of humor and  animal related sites.  I plan to update this page regularly as I find great sites to share.  I have also added a group of picture framers (and a conservator) from around North America and beyond - if you are not in Buffalo, NY -  you have my blessings to use these folks!  :)

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
http://scarlettes-web.com This was Kim's website - Mike has taken down everything but his favorite photo of our beautiful Kim, but I simply cannot bear to delete this link.
http://craftysyntax.com This site is where we got our Scrapbook, a creation of Eric Gerdes from Hawaii.  He is a talented graphic designer and programmer.  You can have a Scrapbook too!
http://newmanvalley.com This website belongs to a friend and mentor whom I have never met!  Betty J. Newman is a framer and an author and a marketing genius and she is solely responsible for convincing me to create a website for my business. If you live in Tennessee I recommend Betty for all your framing needs.   Thanks, Bet!
ARTISTS
http://dbakerartist.com Dianne is a long time customer of State of the Art and she creates the most amazing sculpture and assemblages out of obtanium (found objects).
http://kwcw.org Kurt Walters is a former Buffalo artist now living in New York City.  He creates astonishing pieces of art - you just have to see them!
http://www.feelgoodgreetings.com/ David Manny is a Buffalo artist who has found a unique way to celebrate Buffalo's treasures.  His talent and energy are boundless - David designed the 2007 Horsin' Around Rivendell logo!
http://srovner.buffnet.net Steve Rovner is a Buffalo artist whose talented work is in multi-media and presents a wide range of subject matter from portraits to local landscapes.
http://raspottery.com This website belongs to my cousin's daughter and her husband.  They make incredible Southwestern style pottery and their website is gorgeous.
http://markfreeland.com I decided to file Mark's link under Artists even though he was equally talented as a musician.   Just check out his site.  He was an amazing individual!  Mark's art and music and books are available through the website even though Mark passed from this earth plane on June 14, 2007.
http://www.netobuffalo.org Neto Hatinakwe Onkwehowe is a most worthy organization dedicated to promote and support the art and culture of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas.  Their exhibits are always praiseworthy and thought-provoking.

www.artforhorselovers.com

This website belongs to artist Stephanie M. Dunatov who has been a staunch Rivendell supporter since the beginning of the Art Horse project.  She does beautiful oil and acrylic paintings, collages and cut-paper creations - and you will always find a horse in there somewhere!  Stephanie's unicorns and her winter scenes are my favorites - check them out, folks - she will even do custom work, just for you!

PHOTOGRAPHERS
http://www.cavphoto.com Jim Cavanaugh is on record as the founding father of State of the Art - he launched Kim into the world of business in 1981 and I joined her in 1982 and the rest is history.

Jim is a superb photographer - his aerials are astonishing and his commercial work is terrific.

http://www.lukiacostello.com I met Lukia through Freecycle - then she became one of Rivendell's photographers.  I have never seen anything even close to her floral work. Lukia is truly gifted.
http://www.novaphoto.com/ Chuck Terranova is the printer that Kim and I and Val have used for years - he is just the best and now he has moved onto Hertel Ave!  But you can upload photos to his website which will save you a trip!
http://www.cherylgorski.com/ If you want photographs of people - call Cheryl.  She has a way with photographing people - and dogs, too!
MUSIC
http://buffaloroots.com This website, with photos by our friend Val Dunne and articles by her hubby Kevin J. Hosey, chronicles the history of the multi-layered and active music scene in Buffalo.
http://outlyers.com This website represents an aggregate of Buffalo's finest musicians, including Dave Meinzer who is also an artist!  Check out Dave's Luau Time!
http://timetablepercussion.com This is my nephew Matt Ward's website.  He is a talented percussionist with a CV as long as your arm.  He has played at Tanglewood and Lincoln Center.  Plus he is a really nice guy.
http://arielwinds.com This website belongs to Matt's beautiful bride, Anthea.  She is a classically trained clarinetist and her group includes flutes and woodwinds.
http://bflochambermusic.org The Buffalo Chamber Music Society is chock full of nice people, great music - one of Buffalo's cultural treasures!
COOL PLACES TO SHOP These are all places that I have been doing business with for years!!  They are the best!!!  Great local places too!

http://www.terrapinstationbuffalo.com People always ask me where I find my rings.  This is the place!  They also have a wonderful assortment of gift items for all ages: clothing, candles, music stuff, and just STUFF!  And the very nicest folks work there - as they say, "Stop in and say hi!"
http://www.candyflorist.com Chocolate always tastes beautiful but these folks make chocolate look beautiful as well!  A sweet floral bouquet makes a perfect gift (and I hope someone takes a hint here...)!
http://www.fancifuls.com If you ever loved "trinkets" when you were a kid - this is the place for you!  They stock THOUSANDS of teensy brass charms in all shapes and sizes:  hearts, flowers, animals, stars, moons, suns - LOTS of wonderful shapes!!!  I buy all my miniature frames for my catboxes from Fancifuls.
http://sciplus.com American Science & Surplus (formerly Jerryco) - this is one of my favorite places to find STUFF!!!  A mesmerizing and humorous catalog - nice folks - great service!
http://micromark.com If you are into miniatures (dollhouses or model railroading) this is the place to find excellent miniature tools and supplies.
http://mcphee.com This is the website for the off-the-wall  Archie McPhee catalog and store in Seattle.  There decor items are like none other. Beatniks, Buddhas, rubber chickens, bobble-heads and glow-in-the-dark stuff.  Also a complete array of Devil Duckies!

ANIMALS
http://rivendellrec.org Rivendell is a not-for-profit farm where an almost magical program of hippotherapy (therapeutic horse-back riding) is offered to restore the body and the soul.  The horses are wonderful, as are the volunteers!  They are located in South Wales, NY. As well, Trish created the counted cross-stitch pieces for the Framaree Box.

Rivendell is also the beneficiary of our third annual Horsin' Around Rivendell Art Horse Project.  We are rounding up this year's herd of Art Horses which will be auctioned at the Buffalo Art Studio, TriMain Building on September 29, 2007.  Tickets will soon be on sale at the shop and also at Rivendell.

Please bring unused toy horses to us at State of the Art or email framar@framaree.com for additional information.

http://belfield.org Dr. Wendell O. Belfield is one of the first veterinarians to explore and utilize nutrition in relation to cats and dogs.  His website contains Your Animal's Health, The Web Magazine for Pet Owners.  A VERY valuable resource for animal lovers!
http://springfarmcares.org This is an incredible website for an incredible organization.  Spring Farm CARES in Clinton, NY is a no-kill shelter, an educational facility, and they spay and neuter thousands of cats and dogs annually.  Spring Farm is also the home base of Animal Communicator Dawn Hayman, whose God-given talents defy description.
http://www.hummingbirdfarm.org Hummingbird Farm's website is the home of animal communicator Tera Thomas - she is a talented woman and she has helped my animal friends on several occasions.  My kitties tell her their secrets (and then she tells me!).
MISCELLANEOUS
http://coasttocoastam.com This website represents the all too often hidden world.  Broadcast as a radio show on over 500 stations worldwide.  This is a HUGE site with a massive archive and many links.  You can spend hours here!  Easy to navigate.  UFOs!  Crop Circles!  Ghosts!  Conspiracy theory!  FUN!!!
